I have a '93 W250 CTD Dana 70 and I need to know the spindle nut size on this axle. I put a tape on it and came back with 2, 9/16", went out and bought the hub socket in that size but it's too big. Rechecked again since I had the axle shaft out trying that size socket and it sure as shit looks like 2, 9/16". Is it 2, 1/2" and I just can't see the difference of a 1/16" when trying to measure? The socket I bought was hitting on the inside of the hub and felt loose on the nut. At $25 a pop I don't want to buy more sockets than I need.

All this shit just to check the brakes...whoever came up with that design should be kicked in the vagina.

I had to order one with the rounded corners. The 2-9/16" I had was hex shaped and wouldn't fit well inside the spindle.
