I'm not sure how I want to lift my 4runner (85), here is what it has come to so far:

1) Just do hysteer and 4-5" springs all around and be done with it.

2) Use chevy's in rear and waggy's (or stock rears) in front to net about 3-4", 2" body lift and 2" drivetrain lift.

Whatta ya think? I already have Chevy's so they will be used no matter what. I was hoping to put 35's under there, but may still go with 33's, haven't decided 100% yet.

Any one of these things will work. Make your own decisions!!! Most of us have, it is what every you want, think for yourself. Why don’t you try to mount some old Model "T" springs mounted the right way you will get all kinds of "FLEX"? As many times as this stuff has been discussed do a "SEARCH".

I've done plenty of searches, just wanted some opinions. If I had the cash right now, I'd already have started, but it may be a few weeks, so in the meantime...... Even simple questions like this sometimes get some good answers, and sometimes people even bring up things you never thought of before.

I just did a simple search on "Springs" for the last thirty days and got 125 hits, likeI said the answers are there, you just have to look

My answer to your , Go with AP 5" springs F & R with Rancho 9012 shocks, 35 " tires. It works for me.

I know what springs are out there, and I know which springs I would use. I've done the search. I've read about springs. I was not asking about which springs are better, who makes springs, or how to install springs. I basically wanted opinions on whether I should go 3" spring lift and 2" body/drivetrain lift, or just 5" suspension. I already have a pair of Chevy's in my garage all aal'ed up and ready to go. It's like when someone posts and says, "Should I paint my truck camo or flat black?" He's only posting for opinions, not because he wants to know how to spray paint, who makes spray paint, or which spray paint is better for rockcrawling. So anyway......

Go 35's,you will sooner or later.another option for the rear is to use(factory)89-94 yota truck springs with 10"shacle 8.5" eyeliit-eyelit.bolts right in no fab.moves rear axle back 1.5".and cross your shocks.

I guess that I am not a sheep!! I do the research and make my mind, then if its wrong I only have one person to blame. You will get all different answers on this subject, everyone has their own opinion on what works, myself, I do not like body lifts and the only reason I have a 1" BL is because of the mounting setup on my rock bars. You will not get one solid answer from this BB. DRM will give you one opinion, Camo will give you another, I already gave you mine and it will go on an on. Go to another BB and you will get different answers. You have done the research, now you and only you can decide what you want to do and hope it works, mine does, Beebs does, Camos does, do not know about DRM have never wheeled with him. Hell man just do it!! It ain't brain surgery!!!! Back at you

Fronts two years, backs nine months and they work well and I do think theyare worth the money. Tried building a front pack for a buddy, what a PITA, never did get them right.

You will have to play to see what works as stated above. I did learn ont thing though and that is you will need CLEARANCE! I ran the Rubicon for the 1st time this yr. and my 4runner was set up with a 3.5" lift & I ran 31s that time, ( all stock basically!) Well after that trip I went and got a 2"BL and 33s and the next trip (cleanup time) I felt a lot better with it as I did not scrap nearly a tad! (I was much more carefull this time) I made 2 diff. guards also from my butt cap, granite is not discrimative! It will destroy anything you run into it with! I run 33950s as they stuff up into the wheelwell without having to go higher overall.

I am definitely partial to the AOR 5.5" springs, the "orbit eyes" take some getting used to, but the flex and being custom made to one specific truck is really nice. I too am not real fond of the body lifts, but it depends on what kind of wheeling you do too. Good luck on what ever you decide.

OOPS, you're too funny. Your getting SOOO worked up, go to JU and yell and scream and flip people off, it just makes you look immature here. Here's to you

BTW, just to clarify, I've never been too fond of body lifts either, but when combined with a drivetrain lift (utilizing a high clearance crossmember) it's like similar to a 5" susp. lift as far as clearance is concerned in the center. And, I never wanted people to make decisions for me, just a couple of opinions.

Bottom line is, make YOUR decision and live with it, experiment with it, find it's weaknesses. I also don't care for BL's, but am going to put on a 2" so I can raise the drive train and my hang-me-down gas tank (4rnr). If you want to see experiementation, look at my list.
