Besides the obvious!

And are all IFS frames the same from '86 to '95??

I know the '87-88 cabs look just like the '84-85, so I'm guessing all the mounts are the same.

And hell, as long as I'm here... is there a D44 I can swap in an '86-up Toy without having to cut it down??

you deprived old man , what do you have up your sleave this time? nother frame swap? Any way YES the cab mounts are the same from a 84-88 truck. In 89 the frames got longer (51") rear springs and updated body componts and frame due to the avalible V6 option. Hope this helps. BTW how did you all do at GWNF last week end????

Christ Mike! Here I thought I had 3 responses to a post on POR.

The truck is pretty F'ed up right now. I have no idea what I'm going to do yet, have to see what I can find. Going to go check on a 4Runner tonight, but I doubt it's for sale. We'll see...

If you get an 86 and up frame you can put any d44 in it you want and just set your spring width the same as the perches when you SAS . All depends on how wide you want to go, though. You could throw a wagoneer in it and be pretty close to stock.

Oh yeah, saw the pics on TTORA.......sorry about your luck.

How'd it happen??

Time to go bigger and badder!!

I'm not worried about moving the perches, it's having to get custom axles, I'd rather not do that.

...was talking to John and he said he bought the hi-steer from you because you were going wiiiide. I said, "damn, is he ever gonna wheel that truck?? He's always working on it." Well now I wish I was still working on mine.

I didn't mean move the perches. I meant you wouldn't have to go through the hassle of outboarding your springs if you wanted to go wide. You would only have to set them right the first time to whatever axle you choose.

How wide do you want to go??

Yeah, I'm going 44/12 bolt. I was sooooooo close to being done, but then I found a deal I couldn't pass up, sooooooo. There's a million other things left to do so I figure I'm might as well do it all at once and finish with it EXACTLY the way I want it.

Hey man ... I saw the pics over there! Whatever parts or anything you need we can go ahead and start looking for you. So far, I have been 10/10 on parts.. Let me know and I'll start hunting and making a few calls. It's always easier when you have the manpower...!!

Don't know if it's true, but allegedly IFS frames are a little stronger from the firewall forward. SAS jobs don't seem to have the engine-mount-forward frame cracking problems that the solid axle frames have.

Drew....I'm guessing most SASs use crossover steering or see much less hard core time using a push-pull box, so the stresses would be different.
