i have a 84 cj7, i swapped in a scout rear and converted to discs. i swapped in a lt1 from a 94 firebird. i'm using the stock master cylinder from the jeep, it's getting vacuum from the intake of the lt1. the lines off of the master cylinder run to the junction box where it splits front and rear lines. the front is all stock, the rear line goes to a single handle cutting brake and then, behind the cutting brake, the line splits and goes to the rear discs. i have bled the brakes about 5 times and i cannot get a good pedal. i have to pump them 2 or 3 times before it starts to build up. can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong or give me a good place to start? i am about ready to push this thing out into the street and light it on fire. o.k., not really, but i am very frustrated. please help.
thanks alot,
chad

all I can tell ya is I had the same issues with a non power brake CJ master cylinder when I put chevy disk brakes on my 14 bolt...so I put a late 70's firebird (4 whl dsk) MC on and it solved the problem. (I'm using the stock proportioning valve as well)

Before that I had the same pump up the pedal problem that you are talking about...never did figuire out if I bottomed out the stock MC in its bore and damaged it, or if it just couldnt handle the volume needed for the rear calipers...
