all right i tried searching for the answer but it hates me. whats a divorced transfer case ? and whats a married transfer case? whats the difference thanks

all righty then thank you very much tex so then i could use a two wheel drive transmission with a divorced right? <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

For that matter, you could use a 4wd tranny, a married transfercase and a divorced transfer case. Just make sure the front output from the married transfercase is out of the way of the front driveshaft.

Chris in our club put 2 divorve NP205's in his Jeep... the first one is back near the rear bumper and the second is in the stock location but lower to clear the drive shaft. Pretty trick! <IMG SRC="smilies/massey.gif" border="0">

So does he get the doubler effect in 4 or 2 wheel drive? I'm a bit confused here.

Yes, it acts just like a doubler, plus he has a spare output so he could feasibly run a PTO winch or something.

Yeah looks kinda funky, I think there are some pics of the set-up on the SRC site somewhere...
