Anyone have any experience or recommendations on make your own exhaust gasket material.

Trying to resolve a leak on a JK with a 3.6 and the paper thin OE stainless gaskets are not working.

The Pentastar 3.6 does not have a traditional exhaust manifold - the exhaust pipe bolts directly to the motor with 4 bolts.

The gasket is ~ 5" X 4".

Looking to find something with some thickness to make my own.

Thanks!

My local car-quest sells exhaust gasket material. Its white and about 1/8" thick. Comes in a square about 6x6 or longer piece for manifolds

You can always make your own from regular copper sheeting, take a sooty flame from your O/A torch and cover the surface with soot, then reset the flame to neutral and heat up the sheet till the soot cooks off. It should be pretty soft at that point.
