I have been thinking about this for a while now. It is widely accepted that Ruger makes the strongest wheel gun. I have had an aversion to Ruger for years for several reasons, the least of which is the aesthetics of their products.
I have been in love with S&W revolvers for YEARS, ever since I shot a Model 29 many years ago. The look, the feel, everything about them. I want a 629 6.5" with full underlug, but I really want the strength everyone raves about in the Ruger.
To get right down to it, I would Love to have a Super Redhawk with a 6.5" barrel, but I want the barrel to have the same profile from frame to muzzle. The way that it necks down to a round barrel looks like crap to me.
I've heard tell of people putting Colt Anaconda barrels on Redhawk frames. I found a couple pictures, and I think it looks great.
I like that Anaconda barrel, but I like the solid rib of the 629 better.
