Ron told you why it wouldn't work. If you managed to link them together, you would defeat your stated purpose (to keep the stock axle and r&p); your output shaft would be nowhere in the vicinity of lining up with your third member.

Inquire about a TH400 or 4l80e conversion, then use whatever crawler transfercase is on the market.
