Time for some new bits, and I see alot of hype and promises
Looking for a solid set for drilling frames, old bolts, etc, general "need to drill that shit out" stuff

I've got a set of cobalt bits (going on 10yrs) they work great. I have built my crawler and worked on other various projects at home throughout those 10 years. I have broken a few, mostly my fault.
Anything with a warranty, cobalt like mentioned above. Some of the new drill bits have a pilot tip built into them which makes the bits last longer. I have a set like these but from a tool truck.
Moved to shop and tools
I bought the warrior products cobalt drill set from Harbor freight. So far the drills I have used work just like more expensive cobalt drills. Time will tell but for the price so far I think they are a good deal.
I have some Ryobi set. I found a sharpener is really valuable and helpful for making good cuts.

X 20 on anything that has points like this. I also have a set from a tool truck guy as they were the only place i saw them at the time. Now I have seen knock-offs around but have not tried.

These Norseman bits have been awesome!
Pretty sure they make them for Matco, less than half the tool truck price on the Amazon

I bought mine from MAC a couple years ago. The only reason I buy off the truck is for warranty purposes. My tool guys will make special deliveries and go out of their way to help. Prob a good way for them to keep in business in this crazy time.
According to Project Farm testing, these are the best drills in order.

drill bit - step bit
dewalt - temo M35 colbalt - hercules

drill bit (hard metal)
bosch - dewalt

I have had good experience with the Irwin set for lock smiths, especially useful are the 1/4" with a shank end. I used to buy them at Ace Hardware, but, that was a few years ago.
