a few days ago my 93 yj started clunking kinda right under me only up a hill it got worse now you can set your watch by it sounnds like someone hitting the bottom of it with a hammer then yesterday the steady clunk was accompanied by an occasional loss of drive and a loud grind was told it could be the t-case chain slipping please help

loose the T-Case lower plug and see if there are metal shaving in the fluid, a little amount of very small pieces is ok, chuncks are not ok, that would be a good clue to begin with.

Toothless spiders.

In 2WD, the TC chain doesn’t carry any drive train load. If you have an axle disconnect, the chain isn’t even moving in 2wd.
If you have an open diff; it could be a chipped spider gear. You really have to crawl under your junk and look and feel for clues. This internet thing is just fwaking useless. :smokin:

appreciate it ya'll was told it was something wrong with the t case by a 4x4 shop i'll be in the market for one probably
