Tires rot from the inside as well and there is NOTHING you can do to stop that. In Travel Trailer circles it is recomended to replace tires at 5 years no matter how they were treated and stored. The failure rate after 5 years goes up guite a lot. Trailer tires have a lot more UV protection built into them then a regular tire.

What can I do to prevent my tires from getting dry rot when they are not on the truck? They are out in the elements because I don't have enough room in the garage for them. A good coat of armour all or similar?
