Can someone tell me the difference between a mid 90's, ball joint, front Dana 60 out of a dually F350 versus a single rear wheel F350? Obviously the hubs are different but what about the knuckles, spindles, axles, and housing?

Thanks,

Pete

The hubs are the only difference.

How are the hubs different?
Bad choice of words on my part. I meant the wheel adaptors for mounting dually style front wheels. Not the locking hubs. oops. <IMG SRC="smilies/blush2.gif" border="0">

When we say hubs I bet it is the bearing hub's not locking hub's. On some older 60's the locking hubs were also different. I have converted a dully to single and I only changed the bearing hub and rotor.

The only hard part is finding the SRW hubs for a reasonable price. I found some in a JY! Short of that, it's the same operation as changing your hubs out. Take old stuff off, put new stuff on!

I just bought a 97 Front D60 DRW setup, and all I had to do was remove the dually adaptor and re-press in the wheel studs. Not that hard. The spindle, knuckle, and everything else including the wheel bearing hub were the same. It is kinda just like a big steel wheel spacer.

87-94 F250 D50 TTB hubs also work. Actually, 80-97 F250 may work, but my searches have shown that the bearing part numbers vary on the early and late ones... 87-94 is a sure thing.

I bought a DRW 86 D60. I'm using a 78 hub and a F250 hub with some 2wd F250 calipers and the DRW rotors.

The wheel studs are different also, FWIW.

I've never seen any that were actually adapters... got any pics?
