Read this earlier about the Dyna transmission:

Tranny thread

And looked into the Dyna drivetrain. Seems like a slick setup. 3L diesel engine, low 5+:1 first gear, comes in a 4wd...see what I'm gettin' at?

edit: Correction, looks like the 2wd's have the 3L, the 4wd's have a 4 liter 15B

Anyway, I have a buddy with a shipping container sitting in NZ that's willing to kick me down some cheap shipping....so the question is:

Does anyone have first hand experience with these? I have an '84 diesel with a tired 2L. Will this system fit (yeah, I know anything will fit if you make it) but will this fit while keeping my front clip and floorboards mostly intact? Any info on the t-cases behind these? Any Aus. aftermarket?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know about fitting in the whole drivetrain but this place in Aus sells a converted Dyna 5 speed for use in hilux/4runners.
bit of info at the web site
http://www.marks4wd.com/hiluxt.html

Maybe if you emailed them they might be able to help.

Thanks for the info aus yota. Any one else from down under tried to swap the whole thing over? I REALLY want to stay diesel, but I don't know how long my 2L is gonna last.
