I plan on running 38s with around six inches of lift. I have noticed many people have removed the front inner wells, so is it recomended. are people doing this for tire clearance or cooling. Do you recomend removing them for 38s or making new ones that are up higher and out of the way.

I ran 36's with wheel wells in tacked and for lift I had 6 1/2" and never had any prob. One reason I can see is for cooling not clearance. If you have power brakes then you can not move the wells up any higher or it will hit the master cylinder. What I would do is move your fender flairs up to the body line and go for it!

thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure because they look as if the larger tires would come in contact.

I'm running 38.5" SX's and 7.5" of lift, and I needed to trim the front and rears of the fender wells. The top isn't really an issue. My lift is made up of 3.5"(more like 2 3/4") WH springs, 2.5" lift blocks, and 2" bodylift.

With a hinged radius arm, I needed to trim the front of the driverside wheel well, and the rear of the passsenger side.

Good luck,
Brian
