can anybody help me out with the # for a 22re/auto '92-95 ecu?

I'm converting a 3.0 truck to 22re, and my donor is an '89, the truck is a '92 so I need that year or newer to pass CA emissions.

ecm/ecu 1986 Toyota 22r-t truck

Sort of lost looking for help. 86 toyota turbo trk, auto, ext cab. The main issue I have is truck periodically wants to shift from 1st to 4th. Thought it was tranny, tranny good. Thought it was solenoid pack on tranny? it was good too. Finally took to dealer, they had no books, too old, no parts, after 3 hours diag, they said tranny was good, and thought it was one of 2 speed sensors. They disconnected one by speedo. Truck worked perfectly for 28 miles. Now, the last 150 miles it does it periodically. Not related to engine being warmed up or cold. I am thinking it might be ecu/ecm (module in passenger kick panel area) Wondering what the experts think since the best dealer in town is clueless. thanks in advance.

Well, thats the engine controller, the trans controller is in the tunnel under the console (at least was on my 85).

I've got an ecu from an 87 turbo truck in the garage if you are looking to source another. (this was from a 5 speed, but shouldn't matter).

I started to track the different part numbers of ECU's and what they were out of but never got any more input for them:

89661-33070 = unknown
89661-35020 = 85 Std 22RE, 5 speed, w. A/C, Cruise
89661-35050 = 86 Std, sb, 22RET, 5 spd, Non-SR5, No A/C, No Cruise
89661-35050 = 86 22RET Auto, w. A/C
89661-35070 = 86 Std 22RE, 5 speed, no A/C, no Cruise
89661-35070 = 86 4Run, 22REC, 5 spd, SR5, w. A/C, w. Cruise
89661-35110 = 88 Std, sb, 22RE, 5 spd, Non-SR5 No A/C, No cruise

Xtra = extra cab
Std = standard cab
4Run = 4 Runner
SB = short bed
LB = long bed
sweet info
this poster been gone 6 months

Toyota ECU information

Hi,

I have a 89661 35760 ECU which is specifically for the 92 2WD standard cab auto V6 and dual wheels at rear.

Know anyone who rebuilds or refurbishes them?

Some 22RE engines/trans had a sensor for altitude, which change engine settings when you went up in altitude (I think it was over 6000 ft) this might be the reason for engine power changes.

86' turbo truck with 22R need little help

So I traded for a 86' turbo truck for my SAS swap, had a rod through block:( came with donor 22RE. To make things quick and sweet I did some research and I would of had to drill a center hole and two taped hole on lower part of block to make it back to a 22RTE. So I made thing easy for me and made it a 22R truck w/a weber, so need help with the ECU I have stock ECU 22R-T 89661-3505 w/AT and got the truck running, started right up and ran good for break'n time, but now idles high and hard to get just right and if I put the tdc on 0 can't get to idle right for the AT trans to stay running right with a lower idle (idling @1,500RPM to keep it running in gear)Now I want to do a 5spd swap what ECU should I get for the22R motor and do I need a new harness to match 22R w/5spd .

this makes no sense! you really need to learn to organize your posts better.:confused: does a carb. motor need a computer?

I have a 92 4x4 3.0l w/ manual trans. I picked up a 95 3.0l, any idea if I can use the 92 computer with the 95 motor?

I picked up the ECU for the 95 motor with it, but it was out of a 4-runner with an A/T so I'm not sure how it would work in the manual truck.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
