Ok, another couple of questions to speed along my engine replacement in the CJ8. I have two ECUs. One is from a 97 TJ and the other from a 98. Both had 4.0s. How do I tell if they were from manual or auto trans vehicles. Both sellers told me they were from manuals, but I wanted to make sure.... The Mopar part # on both of them is P56041.

Second question - Is there any difference between a 94 flywheel and a 97? Did the shift to ODBII necessitate modification of the CPS setup? I know that some of the sensors changed, but don't know which ones didn't.

Wow, all the technical exoerts here and none of them can answer a tech Q?

I can answer the part about the Flywheel and Crank Position Sensor, they are the same.

Question is: would it be better to weld it in or bolt it in? lol

Another Question: What is the answer to the ultimate question? (I see a fellow hitch hiker here)

Thanks for the help!

The Hitchiker series is one of my favorite reads. I find something new to laugh about every time I read them.
