I have an 88 4runner with the stock 22re....Its been broke down and I took it to the shop to find out the problem....the guy told me I needed a new ECU. His price for fixing this was very expensive so i am going to buy one from the junk yard and try and put it on myself. Does anyone know how easy or hard it is to take out my old ecu and put another one in??

It takes a 10mm and a phillips head screwdriver , any easier and it would change itself. You may also want to disconnect the battery first.

3 bolts and 2 wire loom connectors. it would be difficult to train my fish to do it but I think if I tried...

Thats what the screwdriver is for :) . Now we would have told you to do a search, because we like telling all NEWBIES that, but I don't remember ever seeing a post about this. :flipoff2:
