Does anyone know if a 98 Wrangler had an emergency fuel shutoff? I had an accident with the Jeep tonight and I hit a light pole on the passenger side, right where the tub meets the quarter panel, got it pretty good too. I get electrical power and I can crank the engine, but it will not turn over and start, thus I was wondering if there is an emergency fuel shutoff safety or something?

There is no mention of an inertia switch in my FSM. There is either 1 or 2 rollover valves in the fuel pump module (sending unit assembly) but those shouldn't be the problem. Because the accident was fairly harsh, I'd check the relay under the hood first.

Hope this helps. I have hit enough shit in my TJ that I'd have found the inertia switch by now. Especially considering I'd trip the one in my old Mustang closing the trunk.

They have no inertia switch like Ford uses.

Its been my experience that the fuel pump module (the whole sender and pump assembly) will physically break after a hard enough impact. Seen this numerous times at my dealership...

Usually have to replace the pump assembly.
