I either need to relocate this electronic unit from where the right foot of the passenger would be, or get rid of it. I have replaced the stock carb with a Weber, and ALL of the emissions except for the cat and o2 sensor are history. I started and drove the truck with the control box removed and didn't notice any problems. Am I missing something, or can I eliminate this control unit without any harm to the truck? It sure has a lot of wires that plug into it.

Oh man I just fixed this Problem. I had a short right there in the Harness that goes in to the Emissions Control computer. I found out that was the problem one say when it was stalling and running Crapy for MONTHS I kicked it and it stop. So Some Nice guys on the Board sent a new Harness and Box. And I put it in and No Problems. The Wires had a short right inside the Plug. It wasn't to hard to Change the wire harness all I did was one at a time cut them and Sot and Srink tubed them. And Now it is all fixed as of Yesturday.. WOOHOOO

but yes for Smog you need it on. And there is a Chance that It could Mess somethings up having it off. Good luck.. [email protected]

Thanks for the reply, souds like a lot of work.

THe fact still remains that I am not running any electronics to the Weber carb (except for the choke), I don't understand how that control box can make my setup run crappy. I have no need for this truck to ever pass emissions. Can I lose this unit? Anyone?
