Hmmmm,
If you're sure that spark and gas are there, it's strange that it has to cool off before it runs.
How about a vapor lock? Did it just start this out of the blue? Did it start happening after you worked on something? That is usually the key on aircraft. Most problems show up after maintenance.
The fuse thing could be a possibility but that wouldn't be related to heat. How about the float setting. If it's too low, you could be draining the bowl and then it fills before you get a chance to open the hood. I also had a similar problem that ended up being the ignition switch which is a common Suzuki problem. Took it apart and had to resolder the wires and clean it. I also use something called Corrosion-X to keep all the grounds and contacts in shape. BTW, everybody needs to get some of this stuff. Great lube and penetrant too. Throw away all the rest of your oils after you try this stuff. Keeps my shackles from squeeking too.

Fusable links can do that too. Don't carry the current needed yet don't open up completely. Just replace it or jumper around. Better yet change it to a 30 amp fuse and get rid of it.
Had an old POS Merc Capri that would act like yours. Changed the ECU couse it would lose spark until it "cooled off". Or so I thought. Turned out that the bushings in the distributor holding the shaft in alignment were shot and letting the shaft wobble around enough to short out at the pickup plate randomly. Like to never found that one!
Hope this helps and if not keep posting.
