i'm thinking 4.3 with a supercharger, supra with a turbo, or maybe, if i can see some pics of one on a gen 1 runner, a 5.0. probably negatory on the 5.0, because i'm not gonna cut up my front for a radiator. so probably the supra or the 4.3 with a super. we'll see what does the most for me

Carbed Chevy V8
carbed chevy v6
TBI V8
Vortec V8
4.3L Vortec v6.

I would definately go with a fuel injection of some sort. Its more money and more work for wiring, but its worth it.

i hate carbs so they are out of the question.

which engines have adapters for toy tranny and cases?

it think the 4.3 chevy looks pretty good or the supra turbo. are there any write ups on the 4.3 chevy?

I have had good luck with stihl 50cc weedeater motors and 4 t-cases. Good mileage but poor merging on the interstate.

Supra engine is probably best fuel inj motor to swap in purely because you don't have to screw with trannies, should bolt right up to the bell housing is my understanding. However BEWARE of the inline six head gasket situation. Mostly all of the supra engines w/ 100k require new head gasket. They had two production problems with these engines, in the early days it was the head gasket itself & later models had a problem with deck levelness. However my opinion is if you can fit a turbo motor in the bay it would be a sweet swap.

I have a ZZ4 in mine, or will have it on the road in the next two weeks. Doing it over I would put in the Ram Jet, no carb. After all, both are identical in dimensions to the 327 but both are quicker.

I think I have about $2500 into mine. And I bought Used stuff

Just do it right the first time. You'll be alot happier in the end.

If you can't spend $3k, then dont plan on doing it.
