LYIN' KING,

Please do your best to post text on this site, the mods get a little twitchy when you just post links. We are a content site :smokin: and it's PBB Policy.

Thx Bebe

Congratulations, our ideas were heard and accepted. More land will be preserved!!
President Obama has launched a national dialogue about conservation in America to learn about some of the smart, creative ways communities are conserving outdoor spaces.

The voting tool is available to encourage interaction among those interested in America's Great Outdoors. All comments submitted will be considered.

What are your ideas on the following topics:

* Challenges - What obstacles exist to achieving your goals for conservation, recreation, or reconnecting people to the outdoors?
* What Works - Please share your thoughts and ideas on effective strategies for conservation, recreation and reconnecting people to the outdoors.
* Federal Government Role - How can the federal government be a more effective partner in helping to achieve conservation, recreation or reconnecting people to the outdoors?
* Tools - What additional tools and resources would help your efforts be even more successful?

Your ideas and comments from the previous three topics have been archived and will be delivered to the America's Great Outdoors team for inclusion in the report to the President. The four new topics now match those on comment cards provided at AGO Listening Sessions, in order to optimize the organization of ideas and comments.

My apologies, thank you for the reminder Bebe!

"Congratulations to all of us that took the time to post ideas and comments on our hard worked win. With Sec. Salazar and director Abbey's announcement that the BLM and Dept of Interior will be protecting more wild lands and the wildlife that live there, it proves that our ideas, comments and votes on this site were read, heard and accepted.

You all deserve a huge pat on the back for your time, your ideas, your comments and your votes promoting conservation and protection of our wild lands and wild life. The forests thank you, the wildlife thanks you and the country thanks you all!!!

While the future will bring many more challenges and heartbreaks and we have much more work to do, we can at least breathe a sigh of relief and rejoice for the land that will be set aside and protected from big oil, coal and development because of the effort so many of you put in.

A special thanks to Alden Moffat, Ted Harris, Michael Terry and Richard Spotts for being the leaders in the fight against the well organized ohv community and fringe right wing extremists who were intent to destroy the true meaning of this site."

If we were doing everything possible, this "Idea" would already be "Demoted" to where it belongs along with all the “Ideas” submitted by those who were named as their "leaders".

Additionally, the pro-Access, pro-OHV "Ideas" would be winning hands down! Unfortunately this IS NOT THE CASE.

Salazar just handed them the "Wild Lands" designation order for BLM Land and they are giddy as can be about it, despite the fact that it was an unconstitutional move by he and the "Administration".

Clinton - Babbett - Obama - Salazar

And this list goes on....names of "leaders" who lead our country (or do lead) in directions that many folks just don't WANT! But that is politics and that is why we have organized, long-standing recreation groups fighting for us and our OHV side. THERE IS NO BETTER SOLUTION, imho.

Clinton shocked us all when he stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon to proclaim Monuments and closures in UT back in the 90's. ObamaZar has now shocked us again by trying to bypass congress and let BLM create its own little de-facto wilderness world.

BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) and other groups are not going to let this one slide. Congress won't like this either as the new ones take office.

But right now it has never been more important for US to be HEARD and to be involved. I know, I know. You've heard crap like this before; but I'm telling ya. This year (and 2012 elections) are OUR TIMES if we ever want to have them again.

BRC staff have cranked out an amazing analysis of the Salazar Order. I would get killed if I posted it all here, I think. I'll let the Mods figure out how much of it to post or to link to.
In the fight,
Del

Thanks for the news Del!

Even though Salazar was forced to show their final plan prematurely to appease the conservation groups when Reid's Omnibus showed it was doomed, the results from the AGOI have yet to be formally tabulated and presented to the President.

If the overwhelming voice that is heard from the AGOI forum is pro-conservation that’s just more ammunition for Obama and Salazar to continue on their merry way with this “Wild Lands” crap despite its unconstitutionality, the objections of Congress and we the people IMHO.
