Most external mounted electric fuel pumps work better if mounted by the tank, they are pushers not pullers.got an 83 swapping over to EFI. In over my head. Will a external fuel pump on the head work for efi if i get an aftermarket one that has for PSI?
sorry about the hijack, but my dd is carbed and has an electric pump in the engine bay..at what PSI does this become an issue due to pulling?Yup Oops is right electric pumps like to push not pull...
Did you just try to answer my question cuz it had nothing to do with my question lolyou need like 35 or 40 psi for the fuel injection
If you are thinking about running a fuel pump off the cam like the stock carbed version I think you can forget about it, I have never seen one that will give you enough pressure.got an 83 swapping over to EFI. If there is one out there I have never seen one in my 50+ years of wrenching. I have seen them mounted on the crank in drag cars feeding injectors mounted on top of blowers. If you are thinking about running a fuel pump off the cam like the stock carbed version I think you can forget about it, I have never seen one that will give you enough pressure.
