I am looking to buy a 99 or more recent F250 crewcab 4x4 diesel to use to pull my boat. Are there any years which I should avoid or problems I should know about? I would consider the F350 as well but I dont need a dually. Boat and trailer weigh in at around 4000 lbs.

Thanks!

If your only towing 4K, why go superduty?
More cost and way bigger truck to drive around in SF.
I used to have an '01 F150 Super Crew and towed several 24-27 foot boats quite a lot. Did very well.
I would drive that thing anywhere. Downtown SF no problem. I now have a 250 CC LB and hate taking it there. There is NO place to park.
Just a thought.

I was looking to go F250 cause I dont see that the 150 comes with a diesel option. I have a 1990 F250 7.3 that has 500,000 miles on it and still goes forward, so for long life the diesel is the way to go. Thanks for all the links!
