I was playing around with some stuff today and found that my lower drivers side heims on my RR 6" are BOTH have a assload of play in them. So now my question is dose any one have a e-mail address for skyjacker? I have only had the kit for a year and I'm hoping that I can get some replacement heims.

I heard that Skyjacker is aware of this problem and yet they continue to make the kits the same. apparently its just somehting that happens when you run heims on all joints...? Just what i've heard no proven facts to back this info up. Thats sucks though. for as much as those kits cost they better give you some new heims!

RE had this same problem five years ago, which is why they don't make dual heim kits anymore.....I guess Skyjacker wasn't paying attention. Even single heim control arms wear the heims eventually, a year isn't too bad. Johnny joints last a lot longer, and are rebuildable to boot.

I have the same problems with my 6 inch RR on my XJ. I've on'y replaced one upper arm hiem so far but the other upper arm hiem is bad no so i will be repalceing that soon. I had to bring the heim to the place i bought the kit from and they sent it out and got me a new one for free, that was when the kit was 8 months old, now its been about 1 1/2 and the lower joints are still good. Skyjacker said that they are useing different hiems now. Just call them and if they don't replace it, Bitch till they do cause for as much money as i/ we have spent on our kits they need to replace the shitty parts. Since the XJ will be a DD from now on (YJ buildup) I plan on replaceing the arms with RE, rustys or homemade units with rubber bushings on all ends so i don't have to worry about the hiems and have to deal with the rough ride

This is why I would not recomend Skyjacker crap, its not rebuildable and hasnt taken wear into consideration. If you noticed RE origanaly had heims and went to johny joints...

Well, first I'm goign to call them tomarrow and try to get replacements. Second aside from this and the really stiff rear springs I have been very happy with the design fo the kit. If I were to do it agan knowing what I know now I would prob Build the whole thing my self and just buy sprigns. But I knew relativily nothing a year ago so oh well. That being said If I get fawked does any one know if it would be possable to put in a rebuildable joint as a replacement, at least on one end of the arm?

The skyjacker rodends have a lifetime warranty on them and if you talk to Michael Morris he will take great care of you.

Good luck on getting them out if they are the lowers. Quite a few arms got out of there with no anti-seize on them and you have to destroy the arms to get them out.

You just made my day. Thank you. Looks like I'll be ordering free rod ends tomarrow for my b-day. If I have to destroy the arm do I get a new one?

I could go measure, BUT i dont feel like getting off my lazy ass. I do know that they are Teflon lined chumpies. They look pritty large but I think they use the stock bolts.

Well, both heim's on the passangers side lower arm have so much play in them that I can easily rotate and jiggle them. So I think that this is the noise that I hear when turning and goign over bumps on the street. I cant see light through them so I'm not worried about breaking them as much as the play just bothers me.

there is a problem with the geometry of that system also. If one side is up the other can not droop easyly without somthing giving. We broke a 9" in the midle from twist. Scence then we have run the system without the uper pasenger side arm, seems to be working good now.

I've had two friends ruin their Skyjacker springs and couldn't get them replaced, pieces of crap if you ask me. I found BDS for my YJ and wouldn't go anywhere else unless it's custom.

I dont know who told you the Heim Joints had LIFETIME WARRANTY. I own a shop and they told me they wont warranty them anymore. A friend bought his doubleflex 4" kit from Skyjacker direct. He had it on for 3-4 months before the 1st heim went out. He has had the lift approx. 2 years now and replaced every ( I mean every heim ) at least once. Skyjacker made me start buying them and then send in the old ones. They were all sloppy loose. They made me take pictures of his suspension because they said he installed it wrong. It has been a big hassle. They did finally tell him they wont warranty any more for him.

The heims are 2.75" head diam, 1.25" thread size, and a 1" ball bore. So if I bend over and take it from skyjacker can I put jonney joints in the arms?

They did when they replaced the ends on two arms for me. Don't know why they won't help your friend. I have no problems with them, but then again, I talk nice to people.

edit- Just got off of the phone with Scott at SJ and he once again told me that they would continue replacing the rod ends as long as I owned the arms.
