Ok I'm trying to figure out my crawl ratio.

Ax4 auto trans 2.80 first gear ratio iirc.
Atlas 4 with 2.72 low gear and 5.4 low low gear
4.10 axle gears.
My calculations give me a 62:1 crawl ratio? Sort search of pirate a lot of guys and maybe they were Toyota guys were getting like 150+:1 crawl ratios which seems crazy

Trying to decide if I have to go to 5.13 or 5.38 gearing. Or if the 4.10 gears will be fine.

+50:1 with auto trans is a good combo.

Toyota (and anyone else) running 150+ are typicaly manual trans with no hp/trq.

A few years ago it was figured out that ratio is partly negated by tire diam. 150:1 with 31" is not the same as 150:1 with 44"s.

It was figured that any combo that got you down to less than 2 feet per second @ idle was adiquit

For arguements sake

Using grimjeepers calc, they liat ax4 with 3.93 as 1rst and aw4 with 2.83 1rst.

So with your 2.8 1rst and 36"(guessed) gives you 113' per min. Div /60 and youre just under 2' per sec as i explained above.

If I'm going to read gear maybe I should just go all the way to 538's

ordered the 5.38 gears. in regular 4 low ill have the same crawl ratio as a stock jeep transfer case. then low low will give me some serious crawl ratios. like 85:1 or 90:1 something like that.

I have a 4l60e into a np241/np241 and am going with 5.38's in my 60/14. 38" tires so I will be at 90.81 final ratio in low/low.

Should work pretty well. :smokin:

I picked up both sets of gears on amazon for $160.00 per set.
