what was the 1st year they made 'runners and how much of a pain would it be to put a/c into one?

1984 is the first year for the 4runner. For me yes it would be a PITA to install AC. <IMG SRC="smilies/clown.gif" border="0">

I found almost all he stuff I needed at a "pull your own parts place" it is pretty straight forward to do and it helps if you have taken some good pics before you rob parts off the donor...assuming it's complete.
The wiring seems to be "pre-wired" on my harness..as far as wiring goes all I needed was the dash mounted switch and clutch harness and I think I needed the pressure switch harness...I opted to buy most of my components new...SSCHEVYTRUCKS on this BBS has the hookups on radiators and ac stuff as well as body parts and lights.

it is a piece of cake, I swapped mine for a couple hundred bucks from PnP parts (it was cheaper to buy individual parts than the kit, go figure..)

Only mod you have to do is drill the cab for the lines but there is a dimple there allready. Rest is plug n play <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
