A good friend of mine is restoring/rebuilding his FJ-62. He needs a new radiator and he says that the original was just barely adequate. So, while he has the whole front end of the body apart in his garage, he thought he'd replace the radiator as well. Are there any bolt-in high-flow replacements that will cool better? I appreciate any help you can give me. Peace

Ary

P.S. Also, what kind of prices are we looking at? Thanks again.

Anyone?? I'm really hoping something exists. I know GDI makes great radiators for XJs(Jeep Cherokee, that's what I have), do they have anything for FJ-62s? Thanks again

I hate to tell you this but you need to bite the bullet and buy a toyota one as when my rad. went south I was not able to find an aftermarket one only custom ones. Are you running a v-8??? The stock one works really well amd has a built in tranny cooler so an fj 60 won't work. Good luck

Ok, thanks, maybe it just needs a new one, as I'm sure the old one was original. Thanks.

P.S. Just out of curiosity, how much would you pay for an '88 FJ-62 in perfect shape(fully restored) w/ 125K miles on the clock? Thanks again

I stole mine out here in California for $7500.00. It is stone stock down to the 235 tires and I don't plan to change it at this time as I have the 75 fj40 for the more fun places . I did put a free flowing exhaust and a k & N air filter which gained my about 1-2 mpg's depending on how I'm driving. Enjoy your Cruiser

I mounted a howe (universal) aluminum radiator in my fj60. it was $189.00 + shipping & cools MUCH better than stock. the also make one w/ an integrated oil cooler for an extra $90. the mount was real simple to fab & I even have it available if anyone wants it. the only thin that may be a little difficult would be a shroud. the stock one looks like it could be modified but a custom one would work better. It should still cost less than a new fj62 radiator & will cool probably 50% better.
