Hi guys I need some rough measurements of an fj40 hood and grill. I'm sick of trying to get a CJ hood/cowl/grill to work in CAD cleanly.

Mostly I need...

Hood overall length.
Width of the hood at the front edge
Width of the hood at the back edge
Height of the front bulge area
Height of the rear to the cowl

Overall height of the grill
Width of the wide area of the grill and height
Width of the narrow area of the grill and height
Headlight centers

I don't need anything super accurate, the nearest .5" will work for now. I think it is going to be a LOT easier to work around the FJ grill. It has a flat low seam also which helps a lot.

Thanks for the help.

Plus....an FJ40 buggy would be cooler than a CJ buggy right :D

you can get all the info you need at www.sor.com. the reason you won't get very accurate measurements is that the different years aren't the same. so go to specter and they will give you measurements and you can order right from there.

Plus the cruiser hood is about an inch longer than a CJ hood....more room right :flipoff2: Portals with uptravel, a radiator, an ls6, and a 30" floor height at hard to work around. The clearances around things are under 1" in places. The bonus to doing everything in cad ( and without super complex bend radi ) is that I can have most of the tubes cut on a laser tbe cutter. It makes building a buggy more like legos....I like legos.

Looking at the FJ hood and grill. I can gain a little room. Surpisingly the CJ hood isn't as simple as it looks to work around.

thanks for the link....checking it out.
