I turned on the air on my 60 the other day and noticed that the RPM needle jumps up and down. I know that this is to power the air conditioning but is there some way to stabilize this so it does not jump up and down so drastically?

on the front(facing front of Cruiser) of the carb is a screw(like the idle screw on the back side) adjust this with the AC running untill the RPM's only go up a bit(100-200rpm) from normal idle. I just did this last weekend as mine was doing the same(and had been sense I got it) now when the AC is on no more jumping RPM"s, super easy.

There is also a small blue knob on the AC amplifier(on the AC box in the cab) that plays into the AC kicking on, it not related to your problem, but you can play with it if ya want.

So just turn the screw on carb till the idle stabilizes.
