I went to DMV to reg my old box as a trailer. They asked where I got the box from. I told them my truck. They asked what was on the truck. I told them I converted into a flatbed. They told me I had to fillout some forms because I changed my rig into flatbed get inspected and weighed can you beleive that ST!T. Now they won't reg either one till I get that done. Has anyone else had this happen then when converting to a flatbed?

I never have had that problem.
But they don't know that I changed it.
Good luck

Sometimes too much information can hurt you :)

"Where did you get the box?, Oh purchased it from a salvage yard"

Ditto!!!! One of the things they charge you for when registering, because of the commercial plates on a pickup in California is the weight of the truck. Damn I had better hope they do not get me, I will have to pay the same as a Peterbuilt!:D

GO TO ANOTHER DMV OFFICE AND TRY AGAIN
I second that, and don't tell them you put a "flatbed" on it, to them that might mean rollback and they might think you're trying to make a tow truck.

I'd just tell em your friend gave you the bed, after all, you are your own best friend right :flipoff2:
