I have a RC Ford Dana 60. I had some 35 spline outer stubs cut down and regrooved by Sunray Engineering. They also did some machine work to something in the Warn lockouts to allow them to work on the shorter splines. They are installed now and don't unlock. Anyone running this know why?
I have been doing this for a long time, you say the locking hubs were modified? You need to open up the hub and see if gear is disengaging. Is the spline on the stub axle releaved at the end for the spline of the gear to slip passed? If you do not have enough room you can install a 382S inner bearing race for an extra 1/8". steve differential eng. inc.
If you had them cut down the D70 spicers, make sure they are cut enough for the hub center to rotate and move inward. I ran into the same problem last year before I went to the drive flanges.
I am having the same problem with my warn lock outs also........what gives.
