I went through the junk yard today looking for a front D44. I found what i think is a bronco, it had a 9 inch rear and a 44 front and leaf springs all the way around. The front measured about 62 wide. Would these some good axles to get for my YJ? I thought broncos had coils in the front?

I also found a scout that had a twin stick in it, is it a D300 or a D20?

broncos did have coils in the front. sounds like a custom setup to me. with 62" wide axles i'd grab them before somebody else does. well that is as long as they are in good shape and will work for what you want.

No d300's in scouts came w/ twin sticks from the factory. May be aftermarket. D300's are easily identifiable by their aluminum tailhousing. Its either a d18 (offset rear output) or EARLY d20 (centered rear output).

There good axles but it depends on how much they want for them. I can get Dana 60's (rears), 44's, 9 inches, and 14 bolts for $250 each complete.
Plus Think about how much lift your going to go with because those 9 inches have very low pinions and if you go to much more than a spring over setup your pinions going to be pointed at the moon.

Just something to think about....

make sure that it is 78-79 bronco! they are the only ones with front solid axles. look for 78-79 f150's and f250's too. f250's have dana 60's <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

The only F250s that had D60 fronts are the Snowfighter snowplow models. And what do you mean by that 78-79 are the only solid axle Broncos? I think 66-77 were solid axle also. The 76-77 EB fronts have disk brakes so if its got disks and can get em cheap jump on em.
