Talked to a friend yesterday that said they have been in touch with a member of Weldons immediate family ( I think it was his daughter) and they said all the locks have been changed on the gates at his place and a neighbor was going to be taking care of it. Also said they are planning a memorial run for Weldon memorial day weekend at his place. Has anyone else heard anything about any of this?????:D

News to me on that one; first I have heard of it. I know some people here in Dallas have tried to contact the daughter several times and express their condolences, but weren't able to reach her to speak to her personally. I had pretty much decided to give her time and space to mourn the death of her father instead of wondering about access to his place. Glad to hear that run will be taking place in memory of Weldon.......and the UFO's.......Bigfoot.........the Government and all the secret CIA stuff that is taking place under the mountain. :D

I talked to her this afternoon, a very nice lady. We have 4-6 jeeps going up on Saturday. Should be there at the gate around 9, gonna meet at the Shell Station at 0800.

She wants to be called when we get there, price is $10 for the day, have to sign the waiver.

Awww, good ol' Frielings! The only hard thing about that place is getting big haulers up there! I need to take the Jethro K5 up there while we still have access!

Please let us know about the Memorial run, I hope that I can afford it at that point!

We ran into him last year. He pulled a twenty year old newspaper out of his car showing everyone an article about Casinos coming to Oklahoma then gave a big speech about the Casinos being a government conspiracy. I really never did figure out what the hell he was talking about he seemed to be very interesting guy. I would be down for a Run Maybe we could find the secret entrance under the mountain also.:)

He was never at a loss for words that is for sure. I had breakfast with him and Green a couple of times but only wheeled out there one time and not sure why. Just seemed to find myself at Green acres. Go figure. I would do a memorial run if at all possible and look for secret entrances or lepracons or what ever the hell else you boys want to look for. The way I see it and remember it he is the one responsible for bringing wheelers back to Clayton after they shut the trails behind the charcoal kiln down.

There was a group of 6 of us that went up on Saturday. We met both Arla and George. They are very nice and really want to keep the place open in Mr Frielings memory.

The trails were overgrown in some places and some had really filled in, like the exit on TSOB. Everyone had a great time, there are enough trails to keep you busy for a day or two and while none I saw were as hard as the extreme ones at Green Acres they are a lotta fun for a day of wheeling. There is lots of parking and as a side note, Mr Frieling is laid to rest up there.

They would like to hold a Memorial Run for Mr Frieling. The money will go to his wife I think. They would like to do it over the Memorial Day weekend, though that is optional. She did say she would like to do it as a 2 or 3 day event and there would not be a limit on the number of vehicles. Entry fee would be $10 a day, there is camping onsite. There are a couple of RV parks a mile or three away. Not sure about night wheeling.

Just need someone to head this up.
