After doing the soa, sr, and cut and turn of the knuckles, my front driveline binds at full droop. Some have suggested taking a front cv driveshaft off of a early 80's mini. Is this the best solution?

basically yes, if your pinion is still pointed basically at the t-case, a CV will give you more operating angle back at the t-case.

Is it actually binding at the u-joint on the transfer-case end of the driveshaft?

Did you also get an extended rear driveline? If not you may be looking for another problem with the shaft separating.

I just got one of Jess's 41* drivelines for the front of my SOA '72 FJ40. I did have to grind a little bit more on my SM420 for it to clear the reverse hump. 12" of slip and single u-joints on each end, no CV. Just installed it last Friday. So far it's really sweet.
