I just went through the same thing this week! What this means is that you don't have an OEM pitman arm. But it's not the end of the world! I took a die grinder to the inside of my arm and holding the new insert with pliers, I ground it smaller with a bench grinder (keeping it as round as possible) until I had a press fit. I'm going to weld it up tonight! Good luck!

I think I mentioned in your other post that if its not an OEM arm, it wont fit...
You don't know if its OEM or not (if you haven't always owned the truck it came from) until you try this, I guess.

What Eight has been doing is mounting it to an old stud, chucking it up in the drill press (kinda works as a lathe), and using a grinder on it as its spinning to bring it down to a shape/size that will fit the particular arm. Hope that helps.

I have seen at least 4 different styles of stock Pitman arms, each with a different tie rod end design. One insert is not going to fit all of these different types.

It's not that big a deal guys I just went the local machine shop and had him machine out the piece that has the cup shape inside. Cost me $10 bucks and wala it pressed right in. Oh and BTW I also tacked it in a few places for good measure.
