Why even waste your breath... DRM is known in just about every forum on the board is being arrogant, contrarian and a general PITA. I basically read about 1% of what he writes.

He doesn't like it. Fine.

It sounds as if 'ol DRM was talking to some
TLC purists at that GSMTR event. You will
find those types at any event, no matter if
it's at a Jeepers Jamboree or where a brand
of vehicle is sponsoring the event. I've seen
it firsthand also <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> And where on the
cover of Toyota Trails does it say A magazine dedicated to Toyota mini trucks
It's aLand CruiserClub magazine for
gods sake <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0">

I have to respectfully disagree with you. This magazine is for Toyota 4x4's, not just Land Cruisers.

Same goes with the organization. Hell, in my opinion, Toyota Trails is worth the membership dues alone. I don't belong to TLCA to go on the runs...I love seeing a ton of Cruisers in one place like Moab and GSMTR, but I really look forward to my Toyota Trails every two months.

Brother Henry will have great things for us in issues to come, just wait and see!

We should embrace the Mini truck world in the TLCA and make them all feel welcome. I really would hate to have anyone copmpare a TLCA run to a Jeep Jamboree run.

Every TLCA run I have been to has other vehicles running the trails along side the Cruisers.

DRM did make a reference to "brother andy".
As I remember from a few years back and from personal experience, this guy was and still is a dork!

TLCA is good for those who like it and want it. Kinda what makes our country great. Free speech, freedom of religion, sexual perversions and the FREEDOM OF THE PRESS!

don't waste your time arguing with DRM, thats what he wants and what he thrives on.

I see some of the authors of TT on this forum and I apprecite the time they GIVE to the magazine and the sport.

as for the purists, I think visits to various forums and BB's will show you that the Land Cruiser and Toyota people are less critical of brand and more helpful to their fellow wheelers than most.

"Eliteists"? It is justifiable pride.
"Purists"? Oh yea, with all those Chevy v8s and GM trannys.
"Arrogant"? Compared to what? Ever talk to Land Rover people?

Are you disagreeing about what the cover of TT says <IMG SRC="smilies/question.gif" border="0"> I didn't say anything
about not liking mini trucks. I just thought
DRM was naive to believe that there was going
to be a lot of coverage of mini trucks in aLAND CRUISER magazine.

I think you took my comments out of text &
hopped up on the soap box. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I just threw out Jeep Jamboree as an
example. I was talking more about the
comraderie of the people & wouldn't see why
that would be any different than the
friendly & hospitable folks I've met being
a member of the TLCA. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I met Brother Andy one year at BHCC. He & his
g/f supplied the whole event w/a spaghetti
dinner w/all the fixin's one night. He was
very approachable & knowledgeable about LC's.
Maybe you think he *looks* like a dork <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> I don't personally know him,
but from what I read on the LCML or TT, he
adds a lot to the LC community.

I think he gets the same reception from all people he meets within 5 minutes and if they do not bow down to the holy DRM he doesn't aprove of them. No big loss.
I have went on more TLCA runs with minis than Cruisers and they are always welcomed in the chapters I have known.
It is well worth the $$$ IMO.
I have two Kayline soft tops that I paid only a dollar for one and five for the other thanks to TLCA events. Not to mention, free rs9000's and several smaller items.
I learned a lot from TLCA people and the only ones who have ever stayed on the trail and helped have been TLCA people. Some more than once. (Thanks Space Ghost)
When I found out I was coming to KY, it was TLCA people who welcomed me and tried to cheer me up. (Thanks again Space Ghost)
As far as the Trails is concerned, I have seen more hardcore trucks in there than on 'his' website. People that actually wheel, converse with people, and enjoy doing so instead of constant cyberwheelin.
So, like I said, no big loss. <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">
Rant mode off now.
