Anyone know anything about the old FWD trucks. FWD is the make, similar to Osh Kosh. I have an oppurtunity to buy one minus the body and engine for $200.00 . The axles are not top loaded like rockwells but they are heavy duty, 2 1/2 ton or better. I know FWD's get used at airports, and mountain passes for snow removal. All I'm interested in are the axles. The rest can be scrapped and would probably pay for the axles. It was converted to a log skidder back in the '40's or '50's I'm guessing. Any ideas if it would be worth it? They will go under a 4 wheel drive bug that I'm building.
