FZJ80 Lift ???

I've run two sets of Js on my 80s. On the 91, I ran Js with 1" spacers in the front and 35x12.50 BFG MTs, I ran the caster correction bushings. On the 94 I I just recently installed Js with the caster plates from Slee. They are easy to install but they are a bitch to grind down the control arms to clear the steering linkage. The steering in the 91 was a little fast and twitchy, it actually was really good until I rebuilt the knuckles. The steering in the 94 is really sluggish right now. Much slower and stiffer than stock. I'm going to add a 1" spacer up front and see what happens. OME bushings are 2 degrees, there are some available in Australia from companies like Big Balls Offroad with 3 degrees. I think those might work well with Js. I don't think Christo has ever stated what degree the caster plates are. He just says for a 4" lift. Oh and on the 94 I'm running 315 BFG ATs. 315 MTRs are on a national back order due to the war. I was told by several places to expect 6 months. The 285s would probably be OK. I will tell you this, I'd probably go with Js right away. Or at least the Js in the front and the heavies in the rear because as you build this rig and start to wheel it you will want a 35" or larger tire. The advantage of the 285s is you don't need gears right away. I'm looking at 4.88s with the 315s. It is very sluggish without them. You might also check the Mud 80s forum, do a search. Most of this has been already hashed out there. And if you want 80 info that is definitely the hot spot.
