ps-see "lwb with 38's pics" thread further "down" on the suzuki board or e-mail [email protected] he'd probably have answers or pics.
i have always wanted to either have an aux fuel tank or stuff in a bigger one in the stock locale but the only one i know of is an Aussie job for MUCHO dinero.
i've wondered what these guys do who sssstttrrreeeccchhh their wheel bases-i don't think they do it enough to interfere with the tanks though?.....

heck, replying to your own post is nothing.just ask DRM,he argues with himself......
ya that's another thing i have thought about-going "up" through the floor-i already have a 2" body lift,so all that room down between top of stock tank is tempting to use somehow.

Hey 54*, just helped a friend put some CJ springs on his 88, and we had to redrill the perch because the axle would have been back into the tank.. never taken the time to actually measure, but there isn't that much space between the rear of our axles and the front of the tank.. anyone have that measurement? Spose I could get off my lazy keester and go out to the parking lot.. naaah.

haha i time my visits out to work on my ride via the beer cooler.
this either explains why i never get past the kitchen to go out and measure stuff,or why my measurements are always wrong.
what the hell DO these guys do to yoik their axles back that far i wunner.

I put the tracker tank in my rig when I put in the 16v. I wanted more capacity and the stock in-tank fuel pump etc. Putting the tracker tank in the stock gas tank location it would have interfered with the back of the axle, and getting the filler to work under the frame would have made it really low. I cut out the stock rear round crossmember and used it to pass fuel through the frame on the filler side and welded in a new rear crossmember further back. This let me move it back about four inches and raise it about five. I made some hangers out ouf box tubing and anngle. I'll post some pics.

Alternatly you can use a vitara (your tracker) tank in front of the axle. The fits tight but it definetly fits. Clean the tank with draino and file about 3mm off the lip (or have a pro do it.) Obviosly hou have to make the mounts yourself, but once you see the tank you'll see how easy it is. I've seen this done as secondary tank as well.
Advantages; in tank high preasure pump, bafled, 70 litres and filler lines up.
For my own zook I wanted the vitara tank on top of the chasis in front of the axle, so the floor had to be lifted.
