It's got 61K on it and is from a 98 runner. They include oil pan and valve cover guaranteed but dont guarantee anything else.

They want $1200 with no shipping fee.
Also they will sell me a computer for it for $200. I'll need that, so $1400 total with computer.

Background: putting it in my 3rd gen pickup to replace the 3.0. Plan to put the supercharger on it. I'll also be buying at least some parts from offroad solutions for wiring and such.

Be careful about the computer. I dont know this for sure, but a Toy mechanic told me that the later model Toy computers (starting around 98) have a bus configuration that looks for other controllers and such so you may have to stub all that stuff out somehow.

You may be better off looking at megasquirt or simple digital.

Post up how it goes - I am interested in something similar.....

ah... that explains it then

Yeah the guy asked me which computer i was after... didn't know what to say to that.

I assume megasquirt is an aftermarket computer?

<fires up google>

Not sure on that price, I haven't seen any prices on the 5vze..

But if you go here: Street Imports
you can get a 7mtge for $999 + shipping....

Or also try here: Noyan USA

I hear they are great to deal with....

I'm pretty sure I wanna go with the 5VZE. I found some good prices on japanese motors but the thing is they are short blocks which means locating a bunch of external parts and stuff... am i wrong? Seems like the long block is easier.

Every engine I have seen on the net and in person that comes from Japan is a long block with injection and everything as it is pulled from the car.
