Putting in a gooseneck hitch in a friends truck.
When I installed mine I just did it as the instructions said, but I have heard people say to put it like 1 inch forward of center for better handling?
Any truth to that?
any other little things like that?

6" forward of the center of the rear axle.depending on the hitch manufactuar.b&w sells a good hitch that is recomended at this setting.

I put it in, I used the B and W tunover ball and mounted 3 inches forward of the rear axle.

B&W doesn't put anyting at 6". Farthest forward they go is 5 1/2" on the Super Duty.
