Ok looking at selling my dodge 3500 and getting a late 90's grand cherokee w/ a v-8. Anybody know about towing an FJ-40 with one of these.

I know it won't be as able as the dodge and parts will wear quicker but i need something to look good and be comfortable for clients at my new job. Any experience would be helpful i don't want a full size SUV but want to be able to tow the 40 if need be.

what is the weight of the FJ40?

general consensus is the GC will get the job done, but it wont be pretty. youre in for a rude awakening coming off a 3500 truck.

scroll through this a page or two. Same thread.

Personally I would never tow with a Dodge gas engine again. My 360 was super slow, barely had enough power to move my truck stock. A friend had a 5.9 Durango and his was the same way, an empty car hauler was enough to stop it from going the speed limit.

Most here believe a ZJ is too light to tow with as well.

A late 90s 5.7 Yukon/Tahoe would fit the bill, they aren't that big anyway.
