I wonder if I am capable of doing my own gear swap. I'm good with tools, very mechanically inclined (did my own lift, rebuilt my own engine), and very quality oriented. Sounds like a resume!
Anyway, I want to put 4:88's in my 85 4runner but I don't want to pay someone else. Is this something a regular Joe might be able to pull off? Please no smart alec responses, any info would help and be much appreciated. Thanks.

Did it my self. 3 months 5.29 and spool in the back. SO far so good. All the writeups you need are online. S**rch

Go to harbor freight.

Get:

12 ton press
Bearing seperator
Dial indicator and magnetic base
set of calipers
brass drift

Gears and master install from whoever

inch pound torque wrench from Biketoolsetc.com

Take your time and dont yell at me if they break.
