Anybody done this? I've changed head gaskets before but it ended up the block was cracked. I'm gonna do a compression check before I tear into it.

Just was wondering if anybody had done this before.

pay attention

there is an oil passage that goes thrugh the head gasket on the front of the block.........

if you get the head gasket on upside down {yes it will fit upside down} your head wont get any oil {ruins head and cam and rockers!!!!!!} just make sure that little hole in the head gasket is over the hole on the FRONT of the block....................

as far as the head is cocerned clean the gasket surface off and lay a staight edge acrossed it and use a feller gauge to measure how warped it is {standard stuff} you could get away with 5 or 6 thousandths of an inch....maybe but any thing beyond that and it will just blow the gasket again........
