I have an LT1 and would like to run headers and a cat on my daily driver, however around the interent it seems that headers (specificly long tube) and a cat can cause problems like early cat fouling.

Does anybody here run long tube headers and a cat? Which motor do you have? The LT1 in my truck does not have the AIR system so the cat would be a one in one out.

Any other thoughts about this would be appriceated.

fordnut: Ok thats a relief.

CRUISINFJ60: People are saying because of the long tubes and thin walls, the exhaust cools by a decent amount and casues accumulation on the cat and o2 sensor, eventually ruining them. I have never run headers and a cat so just curious if anybody has any experince with that.
