We are installing a 4cyl GM HEI TBI distributor on a Jeep (4cyl, 134) and cant find a way to wire the coil (non TBI) and the Distributor.

The dist has the same pin setup as a v8 or 6cyl. It has 2 plugs, the first one has 4 pins and the second one 2.

Any help or input will be appreciated!

Just stumbled on this but I may be able to help.
Check out the FI forum on http://www.binderbulletin.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=75. I have the wiring and the ign wiring listed in the stickies. Depending on your system.
Most are close on the OBDI systems.
On the 7 pin you have an original pink and white wire coming out from the 2 pin connector.
The pink will go to the + side and the White to the neg side of the coil.
I have found the factory epoxy core coils to be very good. For an upgrade wire in the Ford TFI coil!!!

So here is a diagram I found, and I am reviewing a few others.

s19.pdf

It shows the electronic control module I think you have and their source.
Heres a photo I found:<br>

I found this site:
ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/
It has tons of docs and diagrams. Look in the uploads dir, and incoming.
They are not well doc'd, but there is a lot of info, if you go to the web site you
may be able to find much more info.

This pic is for wiring up a thing called a MegaSquirt, but the diagram is still correct.

Sorry the forum changed what I typed, the pins look like

I I (SPACE) I I I I I

Its a 7 pin, so that diagram that you posted makes sense, except for the part that the module has the C + not C - as its there. It do has the PNERB on the other 5 connectors...

I have a TBI on my 383 but this distrubutor is for my friends 4cylinder. The dist is out of an OPEL or CHEVY 4cyl Forklift. We scored the dist and it fits like a glove on the engine, we just had to make longer the dist shaft wich was a cake.

Thanks for the help, still trying to find this out! :D

The wiring is the same on the 7 and the 8 pin module.

So it shouldn't matter.
Positive side to the + and neg side to the - or c-

Check previous post, I added a pic.
Those are good ones too.
You can see the wiring is pin for pin between the 2 except for the extra pin on the 8 pin module.

please don't take the pos going to the batt as literal.
It means it gets 12v from a positive source like your key switch.
The same wire that used t go to your coil +.
