So maybe a dumb question, how bad is heat on the teflon in a heim? To set up the front end upper link where I want, it's really close to the exhaust tube right below the header collector. Will this reduce the life of this joint or am I being over cautious?
Thanks, Cody

I would have to guess the life of them would be be cut in half if not more.

Might want to look into wrapping your exhaust with heat wrap.

I used to have my exhaust to close to one of my links, it was aiming the hot exhaust about a foot away from the joint, the heat would travel thru the link bar and heat up the joint and it was melting the joint. I redid how the exhaust points out and no more problems. It takes a while to heat up the joint to give it some play, but it will happen in time.

Thanks for the input fellas. I'm going to rework the mounts and try to get it further away and put some heat wrap there as well.
