I am in the market for some brillant fog lights to mount on the front of my bumper for some night riding. What brand and type of light would be the best for the money. I don't want to spend too much money, but I want a 6-8" round light that is very powerful? What do you all recommend?

none of em'!!

buy some cheap ass tractor flood lights or back up lights. your gonna bust'em sooner or later, why spend big money for rock lights?

I got all 4 of mine for less than 30 bucks. they're rubber encased flood lights with a piece of screen door expanded mesh, like ya use to keep the dog from goin' thru the screen, clamped in front for rock protection.

Those lights are for chrome lightbars on jeeps. Gimme something expendable - it's just gonna get taken out by a tree or rock or something. I wouldn't run any of those because:
 • NO WAY do I want the same part on my Toy as that idiot FratBoy with 6 KCs and 28" tires.
 • I'd rather spend the other $40 I just saved on some rattle-can to hide the scratches, or replacing the crap I broke on the trail last week.

I didn't think those came with GSA's. I thought they came with RTS's.
Anywho, I run the cheapies too. I broke them after hitting a snow drift!
No big loss.

the PIAA 520's suck, at least the ones I have. First off, the mounts are crappy. They have already ripped off their mounts. And they have a amber light output, which does nothing but distort your view. Like everyone else says, go to walmart and get the cheap ass blazer lights. That is the hot ticket in my neck of the woods!

I've got PIAA's, don't know which model, they were on the truck when i bought it, but i love them. when one bulb went i upgraded to 100W bulbs, now they are even better. personally i think hellas are splotchy and don't provide an even beam of light that gets irritating after a little bit.

IPF 900's. Big, solid, metal frame and base, excellent wiring harness and switch, they throw a nice wide flood pattern that is very bright. I've had them for several years with no problems so far. And if you mount them in a protected location, you don't have to bust them.
That said, I love tractor lights, they're cheap, do the job, take abuse, and if you fawk a couple of them, you're out less than $20. That's what I run for rocklights.

Hella makes a nice light... the 4000 is built to run on and be smashed from the front of WRC rally cars. PIAA makes some rally quality lights, too. If you don't want to spend that much, go for the tractor lights. Take a walk around a junkyard, some vehicle will have some sort of foglight, either oem or after market... good luck on finding a pair.

Best bang for your buck hands-down on aux. lights are the hella 500's. You get a 55 watt bulb, low profile housing, GREAT all around useful pattern, covers, complete wiring WITH A RELAY (like they should be wired)... all for under $60

I run a set of IPF 960's on the front of my truck though... and although I would never buy something that expensive (they were a gift), all I gotta say is WOW - I love 'em

I cracked the lense and burned the bulb on one of my KC's and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. It was covered by their 23 year warranty.

I had a set of the IPF 900's on my truck...they were GREAT. They will not fit my new bumper, so I am gonna get the 800's. They are the same lights, just square.

My buddy had 8" procomp 130watt lights. Damn! I had to follow him because I was blinded by his lights when I was out front.

I'm gonna get me a pair of those.
