Yeah I tried the newbie general 4x4, I never go there so I figure it doesn't get much traffic.

This is a '94 454 TBI

How do I set it? I can't figure out which wire to disconnect to get it into bypass mode. There are two plugs going into the distributer, one with 2 wires that go to the coil, the other with 4 wires that goes to the computer. I was instructed to unhook the tan wire that goes to the firewall. There is no such wire. There is a tan/black stripe wire in the plug with 4 wires. But there is no way to only disconnect that one wire. The manual says to disconnect the timing wire that comes out of the wiring conduit next to the distributer. I don't see any such single wire.

Thanks in advance

Supposedly there is a connector on the tan/black wire either by the firewall or behind the glove box. My truck had neither so I put a connection on the wire behind the glove box. Problem solved.

If it had a good tranny it would smoke them into third gear. Would pin you back in the seat in any gear. Well, maybe not o/d. Whatever way works, I guess....
Granted my motor runs well and it will spin them in 1st (NV4500) but not in 2nd. This truck has 4.10's too. The motor has 90K on it.

You guys have any tuning tips for me?

Here's what I've done so far:

-K&N, removed resonator replaced with 4" PVC to the fender. (I like the soound of the TBI at wide open). Made sure the restrictive peice inside the fender was gone.
-Set timing to 8 degrees (this made the biggest difference so far)
-Basic tune up
-I'm going to cut the cat off and replace the muffler with some free flow unit.
-New double roller t-chain
-HV oil pump

Since this is a tow rig, I'm not investing in any high dollar items like headers for a awhile, but that being said I can't wait to put a good set of heads, cam, intake, chip and headers on this thing :D

Any other tips for tuning this thing would be great.
